Quality Management Systems
The ISO 9001 standard embodies an international agreement on good quality management in businesses. If your business doesn’t have customers that are satisfied with your product or service, it demands your attention. To meet your clients needs and go beyond that, you need to deliver on their requirements as well, not only your own. The ISO 9001 standard creates a tested framework that provides a systematic approach to the managing of your business’s manufacturing process, to ensure that you deliver good quality products or services time and time again, and thus keep your customers satisfied at all times by using a quality management system.

Conducting Gap Analysis Audits
Gap Analysis Audit basically defines the relationship between your organization’s current Quality Management System (QMS) and the ISO 9001:2008 standard. The current extent of ISO 9001 compliance is determined by trained, qualified ISO auditors. It is an initial audit that identifies the “gap” (if any) that exists between your current quality management system and the requirements of ISO 9001.

Compiling a Quality Manual Draft
The importance of the document known as the Quality Manual cannot be underestimated. It contains the top management’s intentions for operating the quality system of the organization. The Quality Manual encompasses policies concerning the quality system, including all areas affected by, or affecting, the mentioned quality system. Department managers within the organization make use of the Quality Manual once procedures need to be implemented. Quality Manuals also provide a measure for procedures, processes, and results.

OHSAS 18001:2007 Implementation
The main reason for investment in the OHS system OHSAS 18001 is to reduce the number of death and serious accidents at work. Absence of personnel costs a lot of money due to productivity losses and compensations to the injured personnel. Frequent accidents also may influence negatively upon marketing at a very important level. Accidents also may result in legal problems.

Why OHSAS 18001?
Occupational Health & Safety Management is regulated by Law in South Africa and thus require dedicated attention to certain detail. The OHSAS 18001 standard is an assessment specification that has been recognized internationally. Developed by a collection of international standards and certification bodies, the OHSAS 18001 focuses on an area where no third-party certifiable international standard existed. The standard provides you with guidelines on how to continuously recognize and manage the Occupational Health and Safety risks of the business, decrease the likelihood for accidents, assist legislative compliance and improve your business’s performance in general.

Environmental Management Systems
This standard specifies requirements for an environmental management system to enable an organization to develop and implement a policy and objectives which takes into account legal requirements and other requirements to which the organization subscribes, and information about significant environmental aspects. It applies to those environmental aspects that the organization identifies as those which it can control and those which it can influence. It does not itself state specific environmental performance criteria.
ISO 14001:2004 Implementation
It is interesting to note that many companies expect that meeting ISO 14001 will be as simple as pasting the word ‘environment’ into existing quality or health and safety documentation. This is not the case as the main feature of ISO 14001 is the identification and control of significant environmental impacts.
ISO 14001 establishes a framework for the conduct of environmental management by requiring the organization to define an Environmental Policy and establish sixteen management procedures that support the policy.
